June saw the first full month of the housing market being reopened – in England at least – and while there has been some progress in other countries, one of the major frustrations voiced by the CA has been the relative slowness of that reopening, particularly in Wales.
To that end, the CA wrote to the Welsh Government to urge it to go ‘further and faster’ and to match what was happening in England, or face a short-term future in which the damage to property stakeholders and the Welsh economy, could be even greater. You can read some of the coverage the accompanying press release generated below.
The rest of the month has been focused on some core themes for the CA, notably how can we use the current situation to make greater strides in speeding up the home buying and selling process. You will see that the Home Buying & Selling Group is looking closely at how Property Logbooks might fit into this new structure, and we also used our regular monthly articles to look at how the sector can ‘nudge’ this process forward.
